A big THANK YOU from the heart for all the wonderful music entities and male-musicians who mentioned my name on or around International Women's Day:
Film composer Daniel Ciurlizza who put me on his list of '25 Fantastic Female Film Composers' which included giants like Rachel Portman, Penka Kouneva, Mica Levi,and Pinar Toprak;
The Belgian National Orchestra who performed my music last year (with the Syrian Expat Philharmonic Orchestra);
Composer Rob Deemer who included me on his list of 'five women composers you might not know about', and who also compiled the largest and most comprehensive database of women composers that exists to date;
the Screen Composers Guild of Canada who included my name on their list of wonderful women composers which happens to include the fantastic Lesley Barber Music;
Composer and conductor Stuart Chapman Hill for including me on his list of women 'whose magical, inspiring work' he got to study/teach/or conduct over the past year;
and Canadian film composer Adrian Ellis, who indeed supports women composers and always gives sound advice.
It's nice to be recognized, but what's special about all the individuals and entities mentioned above is that their actions speak louder than words.
Here's to a 2018 filled with wonderful achievements for all musicians!
